Brit Andersen is holding his own against a long family history of racing successes. Following in his great, great, great uncle Gil's footsteps, a sixth place finisher in the FIRST Indy 500, Brit is establishing his own career records.
Brit started his journey to become a race car driver at an early age, competing in quarter-midgets earning over 80 wins and winning 11 championships. In 1994 he broke Jeff Gordon's one-lap track record at Apopca Speedway in Florida, once again raising the bar for his self. Then in 2000, at age 13, Brit won the SYRA mini-cup championship, becoming the youngest driver ever to win the title. In 2004 Brit debuted in the Ford Focus series finishing 8th in the championship points, posting three top 5, and ten top 10 finishes. The success and accolades for this young driver continued to grow as he drove to a 5th place finish in the Ford Focus, Carolina/Virginia regional series. Later, he would go on to top the charts three times in four races in the inaugural Northeast division.
